I had some very, very good friends in Pem East. One was a very good Catholic [Jane Wichhan Ross], and one was a very good Protestant [Betty Dempwolf Olmstead] and I was Jewish and the three of us we were dating. In those days, we dated a lot. We dated every weekend, went out. Haverford [College], of course was nearby and Penn [University of Pennsylvania]. So, when the Catholic girl had a date and he had a Jewish friend, oh, they called Joan and I went. If they had a Protestant friend, they called Betty. Oh, call Betty. We just all went out together. That went on for years.
