We were so innocent. It was such a different world. During the year, several of the girls in my hall had their debuts, that was very big then. We, the Jewish girls, all knew that they were having their debuts because big flowers would arrive, but there was never any interaction at all. We interacted with everything that we did in college, in the shows and the Lantern Night. It wasn't mean or anything. It was just that's the way it was. I don't think we ever questioned it.
