Bryn Mawr was very WASPy. I was used to that, having five years in this private school. I just enjoyed the thing. It was white, very white. I can't think of seeing anybody of color there, at that time. Remember, this is '46 to '48. It was white. I guess Main Line type of people, people who came out of Chapin, and Brearly and the other women's prep schools. I know, the ones in my freshman year, a whole bunch went back at the Christmas vacation, and they made their debuts. The dresses, with the whole thing. It's very WASPy.
