There are several ways you can go about customizing your website, one way you can do this is by adding a background image to the front page of your website!
When adding a background image to your website, first make sure you are in your dashboard. From there, you head to the left-hand sidebar, and head down to Appearances.
When you hover over the word Appearances, several options will pop-up to the right side of the word. From those options, click on Background.
Once there, you be taken to a page that shows you the current state of your blogs homepage and on the left side you will see an option under Background Image that says, “Select Image.” From there you can ‘Upload files’ and select the images you have saved on your computer and upload them to the ‘Media Library’ where all your images will be stored.
Click on the image you want to upload as a background and then click on the blue button on the bottom right of the screen that says “Choose Image”
You will then come back to the original page for Backgrounds and from there you can adjust, change, and customize how you want your background image to appear!
Remember: to save your background image, you must either publish your page or save as a draft. You can save as a draft by clicking on the gear icon next to the blue button that says Publish on the top left.
